Californium Zone
Californium is a chemical element discovered in 1950 by scientists at the University of California. It has the chemical symbol Cf and the atomic number 98, and is one of the heaviest elements on the periodic table. There aren’t many uses for Californium and very little is known about it, as only very small amounts of it have ever been produced and studied.
In this general science zone you’ll meet 5 scientists working in a variety of fields. One investigates the earth beneath our feet, while another looks at the oral parts of your body that even you can’t see yourself. In this zone there’s also a brain surgeon, and a scientist who makes medicines from creatures in the ocean. Another makes 3D X-Rays of human parts, and our final Californium scientist wants to know how puppies learn to speak dog (and why it sometimes goes wrong!)
