• Question: As people know there are lots of homeless people, but if the amount of houses being built rises then soon their won't be any land left. There for the animals population will probably drop incredibly. What do you think is more Important(giving homeless homes or leaving space for the animals?

So about 98% of the UK is undeveloped land! There is a lot of green space, most of which is protected, thankfully. However different species continue to die out as we expand further and further into natural environments which is awful! The vast majority of the homes built aren’t for the homeless, but are for people with a lot of money – so even though we have a greater number of homes being built every year, homelessness is a problem which continues to grow! I think that the Environment Agency and Natural England (who I work very closely with) do some great work to protect the environment and make sure that as we develop the UK and expand urban areas, the animals and vegetation stays protected. I’ve changed designs and plans based on particular species living on site! I’ve had a redesign an embankment recently because of a few badgers!

I think Thomas did a grand job answering this as this is nearer his field of expertise rather than mine. My answer would be an opinion only and I would have said that there is plenty of land that is protected so we can’t build on it for the reason of animal and plant protection. So I don’t think we would get to a point where there wouldn’t be any countryside anymore.
