I don’t believe in a God but I do believe in Mother Nature, I don’t believe in Gods Will but I do believe in what goes around comes around and to treat people how you want to be treated. So in some ways then yes I suppose I am as these beliefs are similar. As for going to a place of worship and praying to a God, that’s not for me. So to answer your question maybe I am religious I just need to find a religion that’s right for me. Maybe I’m suited to humanism where they value people as individuals and also as a group. Definitely something to look into.

I’m not religious – I remember coming home from school when I was 6 and telling my mum I didn’t believe in God. Lots of scientists I know practice and believe in different religions though from Christianity to Hinduism to Islam.

Even though lots of my friends are, I’m not. I’ve spent a lot of time in other cultures amongst a wide range of religions, and even though I have yet to be convinced myself, many of my colleagues were religious and it never held them back. Where there have been issues in the past between religion and science, is when science threatened the teachings of certain faiths (such as the earth being at the centre of the universe!); however when religion and science work together some great things have been accomplished! You don’t need to belong to a faith to be religious, many people believe in something but don’t consider themselves as Jewish or Muslim etc, and a lot of them are scientists! As long as everyone enters into science with an open mind and don’t try to see answers where there aren’t any, then they will never be held back!

I do believe in God. Religion is something my thoughts have changed about lots of times.

Sometimes people can use religion for bad reason but it can also be a really good thing, helping with morals and ethics.

I completely believe in evolution and the anatomical basis of all things, but when I look at the beauty of the human brain, it really makes me think that there is a God.

      Sorry to the scientists!
