Eventually! it would be quite a slow death. Meat has protein in it which if we have too much can actually be really harmful to use. So it would be damaging to our health to have too much protein but also we wouldn’t be getting other nutrients that we get from fruit and veg like some vitamins and minerals. If you decided to just eat meat after a week you might feel a bit ill but you would just feel worse and worse until I think you would go into organ failure.

Wow, this is an incredibly question! I think Hayley has answered it really well; eventually you would die. Have you ever eaten too many sweets and felt really sick? You’d feel something similar with meat (so very sick, tired, couldn’t concentrate – just generally yucky!) Vegetables have a lot of important vitamins and minerals in – without these our bodies can’t function at all properly – especially our hearts and brains!

Great question! The others are absolutely right, we need a balanced diet to stay healthy, and when we don’t get all the nutrients we need we can develop serious diseases and even die! Fun fact: an American slang term for a British person is “limey”, because Royal Navy sailors used to add lemon juice to their drinks to get vitamin C into their diet to prevent scurvy! We need these nutrients as vitamins and minerals for our bodily processes to occur.
