Hi Jess! I’m not sure I really understand you’re question – what do you mean by play? So our brain is made up of billions of neurons and when they talk to each other we are able to think and walk and see. Without the neurons we wouldn’t actually have a brain! Sometimes the neurons get damaged in certain diseases causing them to die. If the neurons die then we begin to lose certain functions. Have you heard of something called Alzheimer’s disease or dementia? This is when a lot of neurons die in the start of the brain in charge of memory. When this happens, patients with this disease can’t remember things very well. At the moment there’s no treatment so a lot of brain scientists are working to try and find a cure!
