      You don’t need all of the sciences, but have a basic understanding of all of them can help.

      I was never good at chemistry and I really struggled with it. I was very bad at maths too.

      When you operate, there is so much more that you need to think about apart from the neuroscience. From the way you hold the surgical tools, to the way you stand, to the way you speak to the team who are with you in the operating theatre.

      The science is important, but surgery is also ideal for people who love to use their hands and who are good at talking to and explaining things to people too.
