The part of the brain I research is called the cerebellum – it’s right at the back of our heads. It’s important for our movements so when it gets sick people might find it hard to balance and walk! It’s a very pretty part of the brain and a bit of it is known as the ‘tree of life’ because it looks like a tree branching under the microscope. My favourite bit though is just under the cerebellum, it’s called the cerebellar peduncles. It’s only my favourite because I think the word peduncle is a really silly word and it actually translates to the word ‘feet’ – so the cerebellum feet!
