• Question: Why did you go from wanting to be an artist to becoming a neuro surgeon?

      Oh I was never good at art. In fact, I’m really bad at it! I like music and photography though so I guess that comes under the arts!

      It’s a very good question! I still do want to be an artist! When I was younger I was pushed towards more academic subjects. No one thought you could get a job with an art degree… But luckily I liked other subjects too.

      I became a doctor because I loved biology and studying the human body. I was really rubbish at chemistry though…

      I finally decided to become a neurosurgeon because surgery itself is like an art. I get to see the beautiful brain every day and I draw in my spare time too.

      The important thing here is to go after what you love doing. Find a subject that makes you excited and keep doing it! It will make you happy.
